Bhupendrasinh Parmar – Psychotherapist

Parmar is a highly passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and empathetic Mental Health therapist who follows an approach that reconnects people with their own power, wisdom, and purpose.

He is committed to reducing the suffering of his clients on their journey of recovery. He is able to relate and understand the issues faced by individuals and families in today’s high-tech and demanding world.

Parmar has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work. He has extensive training in evidence-based psychological approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy,  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Relationship Counselling) – Level 1, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma-Informed care practice, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Compassion-focused therapy, and Meditation.

Parmar has undertaken DBT Foundational Training and DBT skills for Adolescents and Families through Behavioural Tech LLC (the world’s leading provider of DBT training) while working within the DBT Team at SA Health. He regularly attends professional development workshops about evidence based approaches including DBT and the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Parmar has completed Family Connection Leader Training through National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD) Australia/USA.

Parmar brings huge life and work experiences alongside these qualifications. He has worked in one-to-one and group settings within government (Community Mental Health, Acute, and Sub-Acute Psychiatric inpatient settings) and non-Government organizations, across country and metro regions of South Australia. Parmar has significant experience in working across the lifespan and working with gender and culturally diverse clientele, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

He has experience working in early childhood services (children with special needs) with the therapeutic focus on emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioural change, building self-esteem, self-confidence, and resilience.

Parmar is currently accepting referrals from multiple streams including but not limited to Private, Medicare benefits, NDIS, DVA, and workers compensation/work cover clients under return to work SA (RTWSA) scheme.

Parmar has a National Police Check certificate and DCSI clearance certificate working with children and vulnerable people.

Simone has over 25 years of experience working within the administrative sector in various legal, finance, theatre, marketing, and property industries, and many of these have been working in psychology services.

I love assisting clients in getting the best service possible. Being the friendly person who takes your calls and answers your enquiries at The Wise Mind, I will be looking forward to assisting you with booking appointments, rescheduling, or any other administrative support you may require. I have received mental health first aid training and will provide an empathetic ear. I aim to provide exceptional customer service when discussing your appointment needs.
